Writing Guarantees that Sell

By Vanessa Selene Williams This offer is good but can you guarantee it. Why write a guarantee for your product or service? It reduces the risk in the eyes of your customers, enough to turn a cynical customer into a convinced customer. So, what makes a good guarantee? Besides the obvious, I guarantee it, strong guarantees include elements that not only ease the customers fears but also reinforce your offer. Before you put your guarantee in writing, here are some tips to keep in mind. * Emphasize the benefit in each guarantee. Say youre selling an energy supplement. Write a statement saying, If youre not drinking less coffee, skipping down the street, or simply more energetic after thirty days, just ask for your money back. * Offer objects other than money. If you simply cant afford to return your customers money or hesitant to offer that type of guarantee, offer to correct the problem at no additional charge. Send them another product. Contribute to the charity of their choice, in their name of course. Use your imagination and think of ways you can ease your customers fears. * Im sure youve heard of the 30-day guarantee. Have you ever considered giving a 60-day, 90-day, or even a 1-year guarantee? When you offer longer terms, you take on more risk. When you take on more risk, your guarantee becomes stronger. A strong guarantee = Confident buyers. * After youve finished laying out your guarantee, dont forget to restate your main offer. This is also a great place to include write another call-to-action phase. Ask for their business right after youve dissolved their reluctance. Now, lets think about what type of guarantee should you have. Before you decide which guarantee is right for you, think like your customer. Why arent they buying? Are they worried about price? Afraid the product isnt exactly what theyre looking for? Afraid the project wont be completed on time? Guarantees fall into five very overlapping categories: 1. The Money-back guarantee This ensures that you customers wont waste their time or money. It also protects customers if the product breaks or fails. You can also offer a prorated money back guarantee after the originally guarantees terms have lapsed. 2. The Satisfaction guarantee This ensures that your customer will be and remain happy with your service or product. This promises your customer happiness with the benefits your services. 3. Price protection guarantee This can either lock in the price, ensuring the price and payment terms wont change or increase — think life insurance. Alternatively, ensure that they wont find a lower price think office supply superstores. 4. On-time guarantee This helps subdue the fears in time-crunched patrons. Businesses like printers, car repair shops, and cable companies could benefit from this type of guarantee. 5. Absolutely No Question Asked guarantee This can be applied towards anything. A major problem: Youll probably never learn your weak spots, if you never have the opportunity to ask questions. Include a guarantee in your next copywriting project. Whether youre writing web copy, a brochure, or a sales letter, a strong guarantee will dissolve your customers reluctance and help spur sales. I guarantee it. 5 Tips to Losing Weight Without Becoming Tired

By Matt Ide 5 tips to losing weight without becoming tired For many losing weight sounds like a great idea, but the thought of being sluggish in the afternoon and feeling run down by the time the six oclock news is on can be a problem for many. Here are five tips to losing weight without becoming tired. Just remember that before beginning a weight loss routine you should check with your doctor to make sure you are up for the physical exercise and changing your eating patterns. 1. Start by changing the foods that you eat. It is a no brainer that you have to stop eating the fast food and but more high fiber foods into your diet. This is a common sense thing, but you would be surprised by the amount of people who know better but dont do a thing about it. How can one expect to lose fat when all they are putting into their mouth IS fat? High fiber foods, vegetable, raw fruits- these are all things that should be in your diet. Remember you dont have to go crazy with your diet, just try to eat sensibly. 2. Eat more meals each day. Okay, now your thinking Im crazy but studies have shown that if you eat more SMALLER meals each day, it will keep your metabolism up throughout the day. What this means for you is that you will be burning more fat by keeping your metabolism high and you will have more energy all day long. Try for eating about six times a day. What this equals out to is about every two hours or so. Have breakfast, then a snack, lunch, then a snack, then maybe one more snack before dinner and then one more snack after dinner. You dont want your metabolism to slow down because this is when the fatty deposits are going to be made. 3. Weight training is key. When most people think about weight training they envision huge biceps and popping veins from Herculean men who are throwing weights around a room. You can join a gym like that if you want tobut I have a better idea. Get a few dumbbells of varying weight and then do a little research into different weight training exercises that you can do. If youve lifted weights in the past you wont have a problem here. The point of weight training is that it actually keeps your metabolism higher than aerobic activity since your muscles are still gaining the benefits of the weight training well after you stopped working out for the day. This cant be said for jogging around the block. Once youre done jogging the calories stop burning. 4. Be sure to include a cheat meal. Often when people start diets they go all out and have nothing good really tasty or satisfying like a piece of chocolate or a can of beer. Studies have shown that it is essential to give yourself rewards while dieting so that you stick with it. Try to either give yourself one small treat each day or once a week have a meal that is completely off your diet. Notice I didnt say a whole day- remember, just one meal. 5. Have a diet partner. For some people this is the make or break part. If they are held accountable by someone else, they might just sneak into the fridge at two in the morning to find a frozen goodie or two. By having a partner it dramatically increases the chances of sticking with your diet and weight loss routine. In addition, it is more fun to work out and talk about how the diet plan is going with someone else who has the same amount of interest vested into it as you do. By sticking to these simples principles you will be well on your way to becoming a leaner you and a much more energetic person. Great Interview Skills

By Colin Ong TS Going for a job interview can be a harrowing experience. The reasons are varied: A job applicant may not have the necessary relevant working experience or may be worried about the inability to answer difficult questions. Even the pressure of needing a job to pay for the living expenses can cause a job applicant to “freeze” or go numb with anxiety during the interview. Being appropriately attired and well groomed is a definite must. Punctuality is also an important criterion. Here are some more pointers to help make your job interview a relaxing and effective experience. Speak Clearly: The interview is going to be a useless exercise if the interviewer cannot make out what you are talking about. Thus if you are nervous, take a deep breath and focus on the interview questions. Don’t rush through your answers or make unqualified statements. Most interviewers take down answers just in case a group of job applicants are short-listed. Bring Supporting Documents: Remember to bring supporting documents that you did not include in your initial resume. This can be a letter of commendation, ECA achievement or even the journal of an overseas field trip. These documents can supplement your strengths and provide a positive impression to the interviewer that you can provide intrinsic benefits to the workplace. Don’t Rebut the Interviewer’s Questions: It is rude to rebut the interviewer’s questions. Here is a case in point: The interviewer asks you about your achievements in school ECA and your curt reply is that the information can be found in your resume. The interviewer may have the intention of hiring you and wanted you to elaborate more on your other achievements to confirm that his decision is sound. Give Consistent Answers: When answering the interview questions, you must remember to be consistent. Do not make unsubstantiated statements because you will have a high chance of singing to a different tune in another related interview question. This may reflect that you are not serious about getting the job, which may not be your intention. Think “Team-Player”: Do not get too caught up with your achievements and forget that you are working in a team. The “team player” concept is important. Thus your strengths must be relevant to helping your department excel in what it has set out to achieve. Show That You have Researched About The Company: You must do some groundwork before your interview. It is essential that you find out about your job specifications and about the industry competitors. This will put you in a good position when you are asked about how your strengths can benefit the organization and department. Importance Of Skills Upgrading: During the interview, you should also convey the message that skills upgrading is important to you. This gives the interviewer the positive impression that you will continually improve yourself, which will provide direct rewards to your organization. On the other hand, the interviewer is also reminded of your expectation for his organization. Your Salary Expectations: During the interview, you may be asked about your salary expectations. It is good practice not to reveal a figure but provide a range. You can justify by saying that you are willing to accept the lower end of your salary expectation if there are other fringe benefits or training programme. Ask For Clarification If Necessary: Do not feel ashamed to ask for clarification if you do not comprehend the interviewer’s questions. You can politely ask him to re-phrase the question. This is much better than providing an inappropriate answer. It also shows that you have initiative. Thank The Interviewer: No matter how the interview turns out, remember to thank the interviewer for providing you with the interview opportunity. It does not take too much effort to be courteous. Who knows? Your paths may meet again. Working From Home: Is Telecommuting For You?

By Carl Mueller Working from home sounds like a great option doesnt it? Certainly, you can read many articles on the Internet extolling the virtues of working from home and probably wish you could park your car in your garage and start telecommuting right away! Ive worked from home for close to two years now and absolutely love it. This article will not list the benefits of working from home. Anyone can quickly figure out on their own that having no commute, no office politics, flexible work hours and closer proximity to your family are just four possible benefits that are achievable when you work at home. You can figure out the benefits of working from home that are important to you without me telling you. What I believe is more beneficial is a brief discussion of what you need to consider before thinking about setting up a home office and working from home. These are all things Ive experienced and noticed since I started telecommuting: 1. Can you balance your work and your personal life? In other words, can you easily take off your work hat and put your family hat on, and vice versa? Its easy to say but sometimes hard to do. I have found it difficult at times to leave work behind for the day because when you work from home, you dont leave the office to go home as before because youre already there! Dont underestimate the importance of being able to switch from your work persona to your personal life persona. It can be hard to do sometimes and can cause grief in your personal life. 2. Are you self-motivated? Since you wont have your boss or co-workers to motivate you, youll have to do it yourself. Working from home requires someone who can work on their own without a lot of direct supervision. Can you maintain a high level of work output on your own? 3. Do you have a dedicated work space that you can use for your home office? You will probably find that your best bet to help separate your work and personal life is to have a dedicated work area (ie. a room solely used as your home office) to really set out your work space. If you simply work at the kitchen or dining room table, not only can things get messy quickly it can make it harder to separate work from home. If you have a room in your house that you can use strictly for work, youll probably find it easier to walk away from work every night and concentrate on your personal life for a few hours! 4. Do you have a job that lends well to working from home? If you have a job that requires frequent meetings or that requires you to work closely with other staff face to face, you might find it difficult to work from home without having to pop into work frequently which might end up defeating the purpose of telecommuting in the first place. Having said that, your employer will probably help make this distinction with you and working from home several days per week to start might be an option you could look at, if possible. 5. Do you need social interaction with other people? If you need a great deal of face to face contact with other people, working from home may not be in the cards for you. Some people simply need the social interaction that working in an office provides and if you do, you might find yourself calling people on the phone for no reason other than to hear someone elses voice, which can really harm your productivity. 6. Are you easily distracted? If working from home means that there is a chance you will spend a great deal of time watching tv, running personal errands and otherwise wasting time during work hours then telecommuting might not be for you. Depending on your job, you will most likely find your powers of concentration tested every single day. Law Lemon Lawyer

By Ray Walker Youve finally done it. You bought that car that youve been looking at and thinking about for months. It’s all very exciting, right? Well, thats what we hope for anyway. But what happens if that car turns out to be a lemon. I know, this is something no one wants to think about, but unfortunately, it happens. The good thing is that youre not without recourse. All fifty states have adopted some form of the lemon law that is written to protect people exactly like you. Since this law can vary from state to state, if you find yourself in this unfortunate position, the first thing you should do is contact a law lemon lawyer in your state. Finding a law lemon lawyer that is familiar with the particular way your state operates when it comes to the lemon law is critical in ultimately winning your claim. This lawyer can evaluate your case and give you an honest opinion as to whether or not you even have a claim in the first place. If you do, there are many steps that will need to be taken to prove it. The law lemon lawyer should be able to advise you on just what these steps are. Some of these steps will include documentation of all problems and repairs that will need to be kept detailed and complete. Invoices and receipts will need to be filed. Conversations with the dealership will need to be documented. In most states, your car needs to have been out of service for at least 30 days of the year before they will even consider it a lemon. If you have kept a record of all repairs and dates that your car has been in the shop, this will be much easier to prove than if you rely on the dealership. Since these steps can prove to be time consuming and the entire process can be pretty drawn out, enter into this process knowing that you will need to be diligent and accept that it will take time. Having a law lemon lawyer for this process can help to expedite that process, though, and that in and of itself can make it worth your while. In some states, if you win your case, the lawyer fees will be included in your settlement anyway. If you lose, however, you will be responsible for all attorneys fees. Tupperware Party Game: Break the Ice!

By Anna Hart Theres nothing like a good party game to break the ice and add sparkle to a party even if the party has serious business intent. Every distributor knows that a Tupperware party game can get people laughing and having fun. A Tupperware party game can loosen them up and get them ready ready to buy! Traditional Tupperware Party Games Tupperware distributors can choose a Tupperware party game from more than 200 games that focus attention on Tupperware. * Concentration Tupperware Party Game Prepare 2 identical sets of 12 square photos of Tupperware products. Paste the photos on plain white cardstock. Arrange shuffled photos upside down on a table: 6 across and 4 down. As guests select two squares at a time, you turn them over. If they are a match, leave them turned. If they do not match, turn them upside down again. Guests must concentrate on where they saw the photos. The person who matches all the photos wins. You can limit the number of guesses permitted to make this Tupperware party game more challenging. * Word Search Tupperware Party Game This Tupperware party game is like the word searches you see in word game books except that it uses Tupperware product names. Prepare your word search by arranging letters on a paper in 15 columns and 15 rows. This is done easily on a computer. Among the letters, hide the names of Tupperware products in such a way that they can be spelled out vertically, horizontally, or diagonally. Give each guest a copy of the puzzle and a list of the hidden word. Ask them to find and circle each word in the puzzle. The one who finishes first wins a gift. * Gift Bag Tupperware Party Game Each guest is given a small gift bag in this Tupperware party game. You announce that you are going to read a story, and when they hear the word right or left in the story, they should pass their gift bag in the correct direction while you continue reading. They should never have more than one gift bag at a time, and when the story ends, they keep the gift bag they are holding. Whatever Tupperware party game is used, the winner often receives a gift-wrapped Tupperware product. New Tupperware Party Games Tupperware distributors may use other games at their parties, and some christen their new games as Tupperware party games. * Parcel-passing Tupperware Party Game Place a small Tupperware gift in a box. Warp it in a layer of paper. Now wrap it in another layer, and repeat until you have about 10 layers. Finally wrap it in gift paper so it looks nice. Seat guests in a circle, and play a snippet of music. When the music stops, the person holding the parcel removes ONE layer of wrapping. Repeat until the box is unwrapped. The winner opens the box and keeps the gift. * Mimes Tupperware Party Game Several women are taken from the room. Those remaining are warned not to say a word. One is returned, and told to mime something. Example: putting 6 wet eels into a Tupperware bowl and closing the lid securely. Before she starts miming, a second woman is brought into the room and told to watch. When the first woman is done miming, she sits down, and the second is told to do what she just saw. Before she starts, a third woman is brought in to watch, etc. When the last person has done the mime, ask her what she just did. Chances are it will NOT be what the first was told to mime. This Tupperware party game has no winner, so no gift is given. * Memory Tupperware Party Game On a tray, place about 10 to 15 Tupperware items (e.g. key chain, midget tumbler, garlic keeper, spatula, salt shaker, ice cream scoop, etc.). Cover the tray with a cloth. Seat guests in a circle. Place the tray in the middle of the circle and tell guests they will have just 60 seconds to look at whats under the cloth. Remove the cloth for just 60 seconds. When the time is up, replace the cloth. Now ask each guest in turn to name an object on the tray. The first person who fails to name an object, repeats an object that has already been named, or names something not on the tray is out. The tray is then removed, some or all of the objects replaced and rearranged. The game is re-started with the person following the one who is out. The last person to go out is the winner and receives a gift. If this Tupperware party game is too easy for the group, add more objects or reduce the time. * Chubby Bunnies Tupperware Party Game Guests try to see how many marshmallows they can stuff into their mouths and still say Chubby Bunnies. The winner is the one who can manage the highest number. This Tupperware party game shows how fresh and soft marshmallows are when kept in Tupperware. * Improvisation Tupperware Party Game Pair guests into teams of two. Give each team a Tupperware object with which to perform in as many creative ways as possible. Example: a double colander. Hold the white part in front of your face, and say, Your puck will never get past me! or Scalpel, please. Place the red part on your head, and speak in a robot-like voice. When every team has performed, vote on the best and give both team members a gift. No matter what Tupperware party game you choose, it is important to prepare before your party. Be sure you have the rules written out in a way that is easy to understand. Try reading them to a 9-year old to be sure you havent left out an important point. Have all equipment ready to go all prizes wrapped. Tupperware party games are so great at Tupperware parties, you may want to use them at your next birthday party, too. 2007, Anna Hart. Online Dating - A Few Tips

By James Hunaban Before you go on your 1st internet date, you must learn how to manage online dating since you might become a victim of various untruths. You may be under the impression that you know everything about the other individual. This might not be the case as the other person might not have told you the whole truth. Your internet acquaintance might be employing somebody else’s photo, an old photo or a photo that has been modified to make him appear fitter than he is. He might have lied about how old he is, his income or his physical shape. The male internet acquaintance with whom you’ve been nattering might not even be male. It is a fact; everyone lies a bit about themselves. On the net an individuals looks do not matter and his personality shines through. This can likewise be unsafe, because you don’t get a chance to see, or hear the other person, to try and ascertain if he or she is revealing the truth. It is not wise to give out your full name, address, phone number, where you work and so forth. Use an online dating service that keeps your e-mail address secret by employing an anonymizer or re-mailer. You can likewise use a free e-mail account for internet dating. An internet romance can turn into cyber-stalking. Allow the online relationship to develop slowly. If the other person is lying about something, it will be hard for him or her to be consistent. Keep copies of his or her e-mails and compare particulars divulged at different times. Conflicting information will show that the person is lying. Have a chat with your close friends to help you to keep things in perspective. It’s a good idea to be honest about yourself, right from the outset. If you tell lies that become known to your friend at a later stage, it may break apart the relationship. Use a public telephone, when you wish to move from chatting to your 1st conversation. You can impart your number later, if you find that you’re comfortable with the other individual. Even then, caller ID can help you to be sure of the other person’s number. If matters don’t work out, you’ve the choice of barring the other person’s calls. Do not accept their calls if they block your caller ID. Always set up the first encounter in a public place and go with a friend. Remember that you do not know this individual and keep the first encounter brief. See if the person has told you the truth about himself or herself and if not; break off the relationship right there. Never leave the meeting place and go to the other person’s abode or a secluded place, for the first few encounters, especially. Do not be afraid to report any threats or assaults to the law. Keep your wits about you at all times. James Hunaban is the owner of http://online-dating.jims-info.com a site full of online-dating information. How To Stop Racoons from Taking Over Your House

By Brenda Murphy Racoons are very intelligent, bold and curious omnivorous mammals, with a clever ability to open closed containers and doors. Theyre night crawlers, and known for being cunning and destructive. They normally destroy cornfields, pull off siding and tear openings to get into houses, hence the need to get rid of them. Here are some tips to help you do just that: First, deny them food and openings into your house. Restrict their access to birdfeeders, garbage cans, and entrances such as chimneys, which will eventually make the raccoon move to another area. But, in case a raccoon has already taken up full-time residency in your house, maybe in your chimney, use a method called exclusion to get rid of it. This involves waiting until nightfall when raccoons are most active. When the racoon leaves to find food place a wire screen cover on the opening so the raccoon will have no way to get back in. And in case your garden is invaded, use fence wired with an electric to give them a mild shock every time they attempt to climb over the fence. Installing a floodlight is another proven method to get rid of raccoons. Setting up motion-activated lighting will discourage them from operating in the night. But it must be a strong flood light, like the quartz halogen fixtures used for driveway illumination and security purposes. Racoons really don’t like these. Alternatively, use chemical repellent that has a long-term effect, for at least 25 days, both indoors and outdoors. You can also get electronic repellent, which produces motion and heat sensors that trigger a fear responses from animals, including raccoons. Furthermore, send fear into raccoons because they naturally have a high fear for both human presence and voice. So you can capitalize on this by placing a radio, protected from rain or water near their nest, tune the volume a bit high. Then leave it to play day and night, and it will definitely scare the raccoon away. Additionally, setting up live cage traps with a raccoon’s favorite food as bait, will make the task simple. Different sizes of traps are available, but check up with your local community if you can use trap for raccoons. Send them packing with ammonia. Raccoons are naturally clean animals; they wash their food before eating and continually keep their nests clean. They also don’t like strong smells. Place a few Ammonia soaked rags near their nest and they should naturally go away. Finally, once any of the above methods work for you, and you’re sure the raccoons are out, promptly seal off all access to your home, while you repair every hole and opening with heavy wire cloth, steel flashing or solid wood. Feng Shui Your Desk for Career Success

By Aisling D’Art Have you used feng shui around your desk? It’s a great way to “test drive” feng shui, to see how well it works for you. In feng shui, we work with a 3×3 grid called a bagua (said “bagg-wahh”). The grid is placed over your floorplan, and can look like a tic-tac-toe board, or perhaps the face of a clock, seen from above. With this, we can organize any room, home, or office into areas, each with its own color and design themes. So, let’s pretend you have Superman’s x-ray eyes, and you’re flying over your home or office, looking down into it. And, let’s pretend that you can see the bagua grid that’s overlayed onto your floor plan. Starting clockwise from your left–about the “eight o’clock” area of the clock–the design themes are: Knowledge, Family/Security, Money, Fame, Romance, Creativity, Helpful People and Travel, and finally your Career. At the center of the clock–the middle of the bagua grid–the theme is Health. You can apply these same design principles to your desk, too. In fact, when you’re new to feng shui, this can be a great way to begin. You’ll soon have a better organized work area, and perhaps a little “feng shui magic” will boost your career as well. Sit at your desk, and start at the left side. In feng shui, this is the Knowledge area. It’s an ideal place to store your reference books, such as your dictionary, manuals, and anything else you often reach for when you’re working. If you have a counter or bookcase to the left of your desk, the top may be the perfect place for symbols of Family (family photos) and Security (anything that says “old money” to you). The back left corner of your desk is the Money area. Whether your monitor is there or something else, be sure to keep this corner clean, dust-free, and uncluttered. If there’s space in back of your monitor for photos or posters, this is the perfect place for pictures of what you plan to do (or own) when you have an even better income. At the back center area of your desk, or on the wall directly in front of you, take advantage of this Fame area. Display awards, diplomas, certificates, and anything that tells others about your accomplishments. Add a little red–the best color for this area–to draw attention to your new display. At the right corner of your desk, and on the wall behind it, the focus is Romance. This is where you’ll place photos of your sweetie, or symbols of love and partnerships. If you have flowers or pens at this area of your workspace, remember: Everything in twos… no “onesies”! (Of course, if you’re hoping for a date this weekend, put two fresh flowers in a vase in this area. But, be prepared: This might work even better than you’d expected.) Closer to you on the right, it’s your Creativity area. Be sure to keep symbols of what you do that’s original, as well as tools for creating things at work. Whether this is a stapler or a set of pens and paintbrushes, the emphasis should be on creativity. And, if you’re a fan of Disney or other cartoons, those figures and pictures go in this area. (If you have children, this is the perfect place for pictures of your little darlings, too.) At your immediate and front right, it’s the Helpful People and Travel area. This is where you’ll put your Rolodex or Palm, or whatever you use to store names & phone numbers. This is also a good place to display vacation-related items and pictures. And, the center of your desk is the Health area. If you want a healthy career, your work area should be clean & “happy looking” at the center. With spring on the way, consider a new blotter or other desktop covering in sunny yellow; that’s the best color for the Health area. Finally, your chair represents your Career area. Keep your chair well-oiled (if it’s on wheels or springs) and clean. Polish any chrome on it, and keep it dusted. If you’re on any kind of mat that protects the floor underneath, make sure that your mat looks fresh and new. If it doesn’t, a replacement may be a small expense for the potential benefits. Or, sometimes a little floor polish will renew a plastic floor mat and make it look “like new”.
