Gifts Bridesmaids Will Cherish

By Barbara Ryan We cannot live without our friends, they make us laugh and cry, listen to us, advise us and guide us. So why is it that when it comes time to give them a gift, the gift to show them how much you appreciate them, we turn to the same gifts. A traditional gift for a bridesmaid is normally jewelry. Shell wear it to the wedding and probably once or twice more. As beautiful as jewelry may be, why not think outside the box, give a personalized gift that will celebrate your friendship. Give something unique that will be cherished forever, something that showcases your special friendship over the years. A custom photo collage made up of photographs taken throughout the lifetime of your friendship. Gather photographs of all the good times, special events, trips, and silly moments. Even souvenirs can be used, such as ticket stubs from concerts, movies, and boarding passes. Anything that can be scanned that is meaningful and that will add to the memories. Photo collages can be designed in many styles. Have all the pictures blended together for a true collage effect. If you prefer a more modern look to incorporate with contemporary dcor, choose a more uniform style with pictures displayed geometrically. Another option is to blend a collage with digital scrapbooking elements in an artistic display. Whichever style you choose, your gift will be unique and personal and cherished always. Have the collage placed in a frame and wrap it with a ribbon matching your wedding colors. If your bridesmaids have all been good friends of your for many years you could have one collage created and give a print to each of them. Or have a unique collage designed for each of them. A photo collage will serve as a visual reminder of all the good times in your lives and will be something that can be framed and hung on a wall to be shared with everyone. Titanium Engagement Rings

By Eric Morris Wedding rings are usually designed to merge with the engagement ring after the wedding. Engagement rings are similar to wedding rings except that they customarily have a diamond setting. Sometimes another precious stone is used, but diamonds are used most often. Titanium engagement rings are a unique alternative to traditional engagement rings. They combine the classic beauty of the traditional engagement ring with the benefits of the titanium ring. Titanium engagement rings come in many different colors and shapes and can usually be customized to fit the buyers needs. Titanium engagement rings range in price from around $400 to over $3000. The diamond or other gemstone is most often set in the ring using tension settings. Tension settings are the best way to have the precious stone displayed prominently yet still be fastened securely to the ring. Tension setting is a relatively new process, it has only become popular in about the last ten years. With the tension setting, the precious stone is held in the ring by the metal putting pressure on the stone. Since titanium is so durable and strong, it is a good choice for a ring that features this type of setting. When buying a titanium engagement ring, or any other engagement ring, it is a good idea to insure the ring in case the stone does fall out, or anything else goes wrong. Aside from the diamond setting, titanium engagement rings can have many different designs. They can have inlays made of other metals like gold or platinum or have designs engraved on the ring. The titanium rings with inlays are usually the most expensive because they contain titanium, a precious stone, and a precious metal. Titanium engagement rings are gaining in popularity. They are a bargain compared to many platinum or gold engagement rings and are every bit as dazzling to look at. Titanium Rings Info provides detailed information about titanium wedding, engagement and promise rings, as custom, black, and mens titanium rings. Looking for a Loving Relationship That Lasts? Here’s How!

By Janice D. Bennett, Ph.D. The complaint is well known: women meet men who want to have sex right away, even on the first date. How can a woman get a man to wait until she knows him better? There are a few ways this issue can be addressed, so I will be making two points: one will pertain to how a woman presents herself and behaves on a date, which is addressed specifically to women. In the second point I will address the sex and dating issue directly, which will be of benefit to women as well as men. When I hear women complain that the only thing that men are interested in is sex, I try to get them to look at themselves first before casting all of the blame on men. For example, if you are dating online, what is the message that your profile conveys about you? Let’s start with your pictures: do you look smartly attractive in a variety of poses, or do your pictures instead exude sex with a “come hither” look? In your profile, how do you describe yourself, the men who interest you, and your ideal date? If it contains too many references to romance, this can be confused with wanting sex. So be sure that your profile makes you sound appealing while simultaneously showing you as a woman of substance who is looking for a solid guy. How do you behave while on the first date? It’s important that you act in a friendly, but not too flirtatious manner. Make sure that you are wearing attractive (but not too sexy) clothes and that your shade of lipstick doesn’t shout out “kiss me!” A man will respond to your lead if you start to touch him, so make sure that your gestures are meant to be friendly, not ones that would convey an interest in being grabbed and hotly pursued. Even if a woman passes her own assessment of the cues and clues that she communicates, it’s important to remember just how powerful sex hormones can be. Since there is a natural biological basis to chemistry and attraction, it will call out to be gratified. Instead of going for instant gratification, I suggest that singles channel their experience of chemistry to concentrate on learning more about their dating partner-to determine if you share a similar life path, and see if s/he has the necessary enduring qualities essential for a creating a committed relationship. This kind of learning is best accomplished when you spend your time together asking questions, listening to answers, and paying attention to behaviors. But what happens if you and your dating partner end up in “lip lock” and are headed towards the bedroom? Sure, you might “learn” a lot about each other, but not with the same objectivity had you kept your clothes on. So it’s important that you and your dating partner have the same answer to this question– what are you looking for in a relationship? Are you looking for love, or are you looking for sex? If you are a man or a woman honestly searching for a life partner relationship, then this should not be a difficult question to answer. Many psychological and sociological studies have found that when people experience instant chemistry, and then act on it quickly by engaging in sex, there is a higher chance that the relationship will “crash & burn,” instead of becoming a lasting and loving partnership. Relationships that last might have a strong chemical component in the beginning, and this can be a good thing! However, it’s not necessarily the only essential ingredient for creating a long-term relationship. Growing together has to “take root” in something more than chemistry since attraction, being biochemically based, can wax and wane. And experiencing chemistry with someone does not guarantee anything whatsoever in the future. Look instead to develop a friendship based in similar interests, values, priorities and life goals. These are the qualities that will contribute to creating a loving relationship that lasts. Copyright 2005 Janice D. Bennett, Ph.D. About Janice D. Finding The Perfect Juicer

By Jonathon Hardcastle The main reason why there is not a “perfect” juicer is because different fruits and vegetables have vastly different properties. This ultimately means that a juicing method which is effective for a particular type of fruit may not be the best choice for another. Staying healthy has recently been associated with consuming more fresh juices. But improving the juicing experience is a matter of knowing what works best for a particular produce and how a juicer can maintain its highly presumed qualities. In particular, fruits have softer cell walls and therefore require a more gentle extraction method. Juicing apples, pears, watermelons, cantaloupes and pineapples can be an easy process if the peel is off and they are chopped into smaller more easily handled pieces. On the other hand, citrus fruits, like oranges, lemons, grapefruits, or tangerines, should be juiced along with their bitter outer surface -after grating away their outer rind. But keeping the white skin area is extremely important, according to nutritionists, since it is in there where the most valuable nutrients are contained. For that reason, most people use the common method of slicing the fruit in half and then pressing it against a reamer style juicer or a citrus press in order to extract the healthiest parts of a citrus juice. Vegetables, on the other hand, are tougher to handle. Sine they have fibrous, more rigid cell walls, these types of produce require more aggressive mechanical juicers that can extract their fluids. Scientists recommend that due to their lower acid content, vegetables have to be consumed immediately after their preparation. This is mainly supported because their enzyme activity lowers progressively with time -a 30 minute old juice has half of the enzyme activity found in a freshly made one. If you think that a bottled or canned juice is healthier because of lack of discoloration -when an apple or a carrot becomes brown is a sign that the fruit or vegetable has been oxidized and can happed when one prepares a juice-you better think again. The difference is found in the juice’s preparation and has to do with the fact that juice producers heat the juice in order to kill all the enzymes and thus, extending their color and lifetime. But, the one thing they cannot extend is their nutritional effect which is forever destroyed due to this heating process. The fresh, alive enzymes are one of the key reasons why making a fresh juice at home with a juicer can be so beneficial for one’s health. Easy to operate juicers can help those interested to reach and maintain a better state of health a quick and simple way of ensuring that their bodies receive enough nutrients daily. Juicers are useful tools when wanting to lose weight as various recipes can help people trick their stomachs into thinking they are full. But apart from them being an excellent way for people to maintain their desired weight, juicers have come to be considered a lifestyle choice, not just a particular appliance, due to their extremely desirable nutritional benefits. An Introduction To Indoor And Outdoor Bonsai Trees

By Lee Dobbins Bonsai, literally tree planted in a tray, are miniature versions of larger trees. Depending on the type of bonsai tree under consideration, their height can range from a few inches to a few feet. Like regular trees, bonsai trees can also bear flowers and fruits. There are two types of bonsai trees: indoor and outdoor. While most bonsai are outdoor plants, certain varieties are adapted well enough to survive in an indoor setting. These would be the tropical or subtropical varieties. If you plan on raising these, be sure to put them in a spot where they can get some sunlight in the mornings and shade in the afternoon. Avoid exposing them to too much sunlight many varieties of bonsai do not bear up well under intense heat. Indoor varieties of bonsai include the ficus, baby jade, sago palms, serissa, fukien tea, pachira, gardenia, and some elm varieties. Outdoor bonsai are further divided into two groups. The first group consists of the evergreen trees, which include the pine, the juniper, and the azalea. As the name evergreen suggests, these trees retain their foliage no matter what the season is. They usually undergo a dormancy period during winter, which creates a yellow tinge around their leaves. Deciduous trees include elms and maples. These trees shed their leaves during the fall and re-bud at springtime. Most elm species fall into this category, as does the apricot, hornbeam, and gingko. Like evergreen bonsai, deciduous bonsai also go through a dormancy stage at winter. Deciduous bonsai are not well suited to being grown indoors the levels of light and humidity are too different from those in their natural habitat. There are many types of bonsai trees, but they do have one thing in common. All bonsai trees, with few exceptions, need specific care if they are to thrive. You will need to protect them from both excessive cold and heat, depending on the climate in your area. Also, levels of humidity have to be monitored, and as much as possible you should provide the specific humidity level that your bonsai needs to grow. As long as you know what you are doing, however, it shouldnt be a problem for you. Taking care of a bonsai tree is not a task for amateurs. Bonsai trees are unusual trees and they require unusual care. Most types of bonsai are not particularly hardy, especially when compared to other types of plants. If you are considering acquiring your own bonsai tree, or if you already have one, you need to know what to do to increase your plants chances of survival. Taking care of a bonsai tree requires specialized knowledge. If you are serious about growing your own bonsai plants, you need to take time to conduct a little research. But a few books and read up on the subject. If you know anyone who has had experience in raising bonsai, you should try to discuss the matter with him or her as well. Taking care of a bonsai is hard enough; being ignorant certainly isnt going to help you. Be sure to find a local bonsai nursery. Avoid the bonsai trees sold in department stores and malls. Although they may seem to be in good condition and sell for less, they are often close to death and will not survive in your home for long. Retailers, after all, are interested only in selling the plant, not maintaining it. It would be far better for you to find a nursery that sells seedlings or small bonsai plants. This will allow you to experience the joy (and hardship!) of raising your own plant. Additionally, you will be able to shape the tree the way you want to, which is not always an option with the more mature plants. Dont skimp on the tools that you need. For most people, raising a bonsai is more of a hobby than anything else. This does not mean, however, that you should skimp on the tools that you will need to raise your plants well. One example of bonsai tool is a concave cutter. A concave cutter is a tool designed to prune the plant without leaving a stub. Shears, pliers, and branch bending jacks are common as well. For shaping the tree, you will need aluminum and copper wires. Taking care of a bonsai tree involves a continuous learning process. While this article is not meant to be a comprehensive guide to bonsai care, it should give you the idea that there is much to be learned in order to be successful. However, dont be discouraged. If you truly love bonsai trees, learning will not be difficult for you at all! And once youve mastered the art of raising a bonsai, you can look forward to many beautiful days with your miniature tree. How S.M.A.R.T. Are You When Setting Your Weight Loss Goals?

By Jeff Cadwell What does S.M.A.R.T. stand for? In terms of weight loss goals, this is an acronym for Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic and Timely. By establishing S.M.A.R.T. weight loss goals, you will show yourself that you have a solid determination and drive to get to your purpose. Setting goals is so very important to your success and will be influential in maintaining your weight loss for a lifetime. Simply, goals give you something to work toward. They also confirm that you are moving along a specific, achievable and self-defined path. The system I am about to present will show you a way to achieve your goals more effectively. Got a weight loss goal? Examine it against these S.M.A.R.T. guidelines: ************************************************************************ SPECIFIC Set clear, concrete, significant and well-defined goals. Your goals for losing weight should be clear-cut and specifically define what you want to happen. The more detailed your goals, the more it will help you focus your efforts and clearly identify how you are going to proceed. For example, if you wanted to build a house, you would first think about what type of house it would be. You would consider whether it would be a condominium, a bungalow, or maybe even a mansion. You would also think about the location that you wished to live in. In setting goals for your own weight loss, these same clear and concrete planning strategies should apply. You need to think about what you want, why you want to do it, and how you are going to do it. Do you have the means to do it? (financial, self-control, patience) What tools will you need to complete this? (books, food diary, gym) What kind of foundation will you need? (coach, doctor, support group) Unfortunately, many individuals miss this critical piece of the puzzle when setting their weight loss goals. Imagine if that house you wanted to build did not look the way you wanted it. Think about if you did not have an ample supply of tools to get the job done. Consider the possibility that your house did not sit on a firm enough foundation to give it the necessary support. Once you have thought your plan through, write down the details so that you have a clear understanding of your goal and the finer points involved. Post them somewhere visible as a constant reminder of what you want to accomplish. ************************************************************************ MEASURABLE Make certain that your goal is meaningful, motivational and measurable by markers. Always keep in mind that if you cannot measure it, you cannot manage it. The wonderful aspect about this part of the process is that you get to see the change come about. Aim for a specific target and establish solid deciding factors for measuring your progress. During the progression, you will not only get to measure your growth, you will also be able to stay on track and experience the joy of success, which will motivate you to keep moving forward. When I work with clients, I not only request that they weigh themselves on the scale at regular intervals, but that they take their body measurements on a quarterly basis. Their key, though, is to record their results in a journal of some sort. This is also a place where they can document their triumphs and challenges. Journaling can be a powerful tool. It can become a tool in which to track your progress as well as a place to reflect on your journey to health. ************************************************************************ ACHIEVABLE Aim for action-oriented, attainable goals. When you discover the goals that are most important to you, you begin to figure out the means to make them come true. You develop the spirit, abilities, skills and financial capacity to achieve them. You realize previously unseen opportunities to bring yourself nearer to your goals. Have you heard, Where there is a will, there is a way? A common mistake is to aim too high. It is just much easier to accomplish smaller goals that fit into a larger objective instead of trying to complete all of them at once. Although you aspire to get that big grand prize, you need to be sensible and break it down into smaller chunks. It will turn the odds of success in your favor. Great examples of aiming too high and too fast are the products that promise you overnight success. Yo-Yo dieting or drinking weight loss drinks filled with sugar and chemicals, are shameful cases of seeking the Magic Pill. Yes, you might lose a few pounds. But, are you really going to be able to eat and drink like this for the rest of your life? Also, consider that these quick and easy solutions have been proven to put health at risk. If you are to make smaller goals, they need to stretch you slightly, not be pieces of cake (no pun intended). You should feel that you can do it and understand that you will need to make a firm commitment to accomplish each step. See yourself as a pirate looking for buried treasure. Like you, he knows that he has a goal in sight. He just needs the strategy to achieve it. Once he understands why he wants it at this time, he develops a plan of many steps. He searches out the resources to get to the buried treasure. Once he has accomplished his steps, he gets to relish in his riches. Do you see a similarity within yourself as you come up with the strategies to reach your weight loss goal? Do you see that you, too, can have many riches just by making sure that your goals are truly attainable? ************************************************************************ REALISTIC You goals must be attainable, relevant to your life, improving, rewarding and results-oriented. Be honest with yourself. You know what you can do. You need to guarantee that the skills and tools needed are available. Make sure that your weight loss goal fits into the grand scheme of things (your life). This goal should not break you by attempting it. Keep in mind that if the goals you set are far too improbable, you probably will not make a commitment. Although you may start with the best intentions, the knowledge that it is too much to handle means your subconscious will remind you of this and will hinder you from giving it your best effort. Honestly, making Pie in the Sky goals will only leave you feeling more depressed and inadequate than before. Devise a plan that makes the goal practical. The goal should fit in with where you are right now, at this very moment. Think about whether the goal will fit into your lifestyle, your stresses, your surroundings, etc. The better you evaluate everything involved in your life now, the greater the chances are that you will succeed. If you go to the other end of the spectrum and set a goal that is too low, your integrity tells you that you are not going to be very competent. Remember, it is always good to put a little pressure on yourself. By setting firm guidelines with yourself, whether it be to only have ice cream once a week or have a small portion of potato chips in the afternoon, you are being more realistic and setting yourself up to succeed. In the end, your sense of pride will be well worth it! ************************************************************************ TIMELY Set goals that are trackable, manageable, and have a clear timeframe. Setting a deadline for your goal gives you a clear target to shoot for. Whether it is a day, a week or a month, you need to set a time limit. If you do not set a date, your goal is too vague. Without a timeframe, you feel that you can start at any time and there is no urgency to start taking action. Many of my clients have told me that they started diet programs during times of deep depression or extreme pressure from their physicians. Lets face the facts. If you are not the one who sets the timeframe for when you are going to start your plan, you are going to become belligerent and downright rebellious. The fact is that it needs to be your decision and you need to think about how your weight loss goal fits in with your schedule. S.M.A.R.T. goal planning starts with sitting down and realistically asking yourself, Is this the right time to do this? Without this piece, you are not being very sensible. You may need to take the time to meditate and determine within yourself what kind of time commitment this is going to take. If you are ready to start setting some goals for yourself, you are taking a step in the right direction. It clearly shows that there are good things there, like purpose and determination! ************************************************************************ It is important to put into perspective why you wish to lose weight and to keep that reason in the forefront of your mind. Being overweight, do you want to save you life? Would you like to see your kids graduate from college? Have you always wanted to sit comfortably on an airplane? There are so many reasons. Which one is yours? Once again, I encourage you to write down each step of your S.M.A.R.T. goal strategy so that you can refer to them along the way. Always keep in mind that your intentions mean nothing until you take that first step. Are YOU ready to take that first step? Titan Breast Lift Procedure A Non Surgical Breast Lift Option

By Renee Billancourt Titan Breast Lift Information The Titan Breast Lift procedure refers to the utilization of the Titan Laser to perform a non surgical breast lift procedure. Many are finding that the Titan laser can also be used to perform a non surgical Breast Lift. This option could become popular amongst those who want to avoid both the costs of surgery and the physical aspects of surgery itself. Length and details of the Titan Breast Lift procedure The Titan Breast Lift procedure works by targeting the sagging upper chest areas for treatment via the Titan Laser. As with the typical behavior of other Titan Laser treated areas, the upper chest regions weaker collagen is heated which causes it to immediately contract and thicken. The Titan Laser also creates micro injuries to the dermis layer of the skin which results in it producing new collagen over the next several months. The sessions utilizing the Titan Breast Lift Procedure takes from 20 minutes to one hour, based on your individual needs. A topical numbing cream is applied to most patients, but there is little in the way of pain during the procedure. Risks and/or complications related to the Titan Laser procedure Those having undergone treatment via a Titan Laser indicate the procedure is more or less pain free. There are few side effects experienced from treatment via the Titan Laser. Patients might experience a small amount of redness that typically will fade after an hour or so. Any swelling that occurs should subside within a day. Individuals receiving treatment may immediately return to work. What could make the Titan Breast Lift procedure a popular option is its minimal impact to the patient and short recovery time. Furthermore the skin surface is not damaged as the procedure does not extend below the dermis region. Long-term results of the Titan Breast Lift procedure Since the Titan Laser works by stimulating the formation of new collagen, ideal results will take approximately three to eight months to materialize. While the Titan Breast Lift procedure is very effective it does have limitations. It is not intended to be a permanent solution but more as one that prolongs the need for breast lift surgery by two or more years. How much does a Titan Breast Lift procedure cost? Costs for the Titan Breast Lift procedure should be similar to other Titan Laser procedures. Currently a Titan Laser procedure averages between $1500 to $2500 per treatment session.
